Machine Men is a piece written in response to the U.S attacks on Iran in early 2026 that started the U.S-Iranian war. Based around a sampled speech given by Charlie Chaplin in ‘The Great Dictator’, the piece has three distinct sections building in intensity. The Soprano saxophone, being modified with electronics, utilizes extended techniques as well as traditional playing to express the dissatisfaction of many people in the U.S with the forever war policies of the 21st century.
