He has a dedication to creating compelling compositions, live performances and recordings. As a performer, his specialties are highly diverse. He is not only a highly competent classical saxophonist, but also an experienced guitarist, bassist, drummer, and Dobro player.

Mitchell is an experienced recording engineer, with multiple solo albums and EPs. He also has experience recording groups of many genres, including rock, classical, bluegrass, and hardcore.
